Basically, just to learn some of the hand defense basics. When I had attended a course a while back, there was a lady who had taken this course; and she really liked it and highly recommended it to me.
I loved that this course was not in the sun and was indoors! It was pretty hot outside, but the
tent was air-conditioned. By midday, however, the air conditioner couldn't keep up.
I grew up boxing some, so I already knew a lot of the basic maneuvers that they introduced.
There wasn't much legwork in the course, but there were a lot of upper body moves. The only
legwork we did was a front kick, and they taught us how to sweep. Overall, the course was
rather intensive.
On the first day, they had half of the students hold martial arts body pads, while the other half
would practice punching and kicking the pads down the line of students. Then, we switched off
after two times through the line of students.
When they paired us off with partners to practice some one on one things, the instructors were
kind enough to pair me with another lady for the "rape" simulation. In this exercise, we were to
attempt to buck off the other person and get them on their back.
I appreciated the fact that the instructors gave us a lot of personal attention to make sure that we
were doing everything right. With every maneuver, there was an instructor right there with you
to make sure that you learned to do it properly before they moved on to the next thing.

Don't wear any jewelry; do wear loose-fitting clothing. Also, I suggest that you look at this course as a learning experience and don't let your ego get in the way.
Yes, I would.
I flew from CA.
I stayed at the Best Western.
I ordered my lunches from the Beach Café.
I ate at Wulfy's in Pahrump. I really like their Black and Bleu Burger, which was a bleu cheese burger with bacon.
